This raw alpaca fiber is from our own herd of alpacas. Raw alpaca fiber is not washed or cleaned in any way. This fiber is NOT skirted.

This fiber has been cleared only of large pieces of debris. It may contain small amounts of Vegetable Matter. If you want to use this material for crafting projects like needle felting, you may want to wash & skirt it first.

This is primarily 2nd and 3rd cut fibers (leg/neck/etc) and may contain some VM. Our fiber is not graded. There may be shorter pieces included. This fiber is ideal for small felting projects, use as bird nesting material, stuffing projects, etc. This is NOT the prime/ blanket fiber.

Washing should be done in cold water with a mild detergent. Then lay out to air dry.

For the birds:
Help them get ready for nesting season by putting out some alpaca fiber to line their nests. Birds LOVE alpaca just like we do. It naturally maintains temperature for the birds and is super soft. Simply place the fiber in a container like a grapevine ball or an old bird feeder and enjoy watching the birds come in for nesting material.
